A More Global Definition of "Shagging Music"
What is "Shagging Music"? Well, according to the community-edited Wikipedia Shag Music is closely related to Beach Music and originates from South Carolina and Swing Music of the 1940's. A Google search for "Shagging Music" returns no less than 600,00 results - almost all of which relate to this general definition. Apparently, "any true shagger will tell you that today's shag music can encompass any tune that falls within a range of about 115-135 beats per minute that a person finds suitable for the shag".
However ...
Given that everyone under the age of 70 in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and many other English-speaking nations consider the term "Shag" to be a conversationally acceptable colloquialism for sexual intercourse, and given that the combined population of the above countries far exceeds that of the southern states of the USA, it follows that a less parochial definition is:
"Music to make love by". Simple.
Music can be extremely evocative so anyone wishing to trivialise this definition should cast
their mind back to some of their more memorable shags - guaranteed there'll be a soundtrack. This site is dedicated to the
