Garbage: Version 2.0 Garbage say that Version 2.0 was "high-tech and low-down, the now sound and of golden memories". Hmmm ... nonetheless it was my flatmate's favourite for 3 years - every time I heard it I knew he'd got lucky. Features "I think I'm Paranoid" and "Push It". |
Goldfrapp: Black Cherry "Train" and "Strict Machine" feature on this glam rock/disco/synthpop blend. The lyrics could be really raunchy for all we know - but it's far more likely they are the usual Goldfrapp gibberish. |
The Cure: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me "Just like Heaven" is track 9 on the orginal 1987 release. That's really all we need to say. It was re-released in 2006. Are those Robert Smith's lips? |
Outkast: Stankonia Stankonia is, apparently, the place from which all "Funky Thangs" come from. One of Time magazine's 100 Best Albums of All Time (2006) - a Hip Hop riot of diverse influences. |
Massive Attack: Collected Massive Attack"s trip-hop \"Best Of\" album featuring some of their more husky whispered rap tracks. Massive Attack is one of the best things to come out of Bristol. |
Cocteau Twins: Four Calendar Cafe A great combination of fluidity with mostly meaningless lyrics. This is one of their most unintelligble albums, and God only knows what it's about, but it is a perfect choice for background ambience. |
Enya: Watermark A distinctively Gaelic collection of dreamy tracks including "Orinoco Flow" and "On Your Shore". Enya started out with Clannad and thankfully moved on. |
Bryan Ferry / Roxy Music: More Than This Spans a couple of decades of Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry's solo work. (Come on everyone - stop voting for "Best Of" albums!). There's everything on here for the bedroom-oriented, including the mournful "Oh Yeah", "Avalon", "Dance Away" and of course "Love is the Drug". |
Sade: Diamond Life A true crowd pleaser from the 80's - which is handy if you happen to be in bed with a crowd. "Your Love is King", "Cherry Pie" and of course "Smooth Operator". |
Bryan Ferry / Roxy Music: Country Life No. No, no, no, no. Vote for the MUSIC not the cover art. |
